First Degree Classes Happening Now

About the Class
Our classes are based on traditional Wicca. We teach what and how a coven does what it does. (We are not a Gardnerian or Alexandrian coven.) We utilize the Witches' Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrar as a textbook for the class and go through all 42 chapters and offer a midterm and final exam for them.
During your year and a day* we have several meditation exercises, over a dozen lectures, more than two dozen spells, assign several essays, discuss herbs, candles & their colors, stones, keeping an altar and we will teach you about and how to consecrate your magickal tools. You will also learn ritual ring-casting as well as celebrate all 8 sabbats throughout the year, of which you will be required to attend and participate in. ​
Our 1st year program is rigorous and requires a commitment of attendance to your class once a week, eight sabbats a year and eight sabbat practices. In addition, there will be extra learning opportunities outside of your weekly class and sabbat participation. We are here for when you are ready to get serious about learning the Craft; ALL aspects of it, from it's history, to its inner workings, to its future.
Your "year and a day*" - will be different than someone else's "year and a day". We require a MINIMUM of a year and a day as is tradition, but sometimes, life just gets in the way. If you miss several classes, or have to repeat chapters, your year and a day will get stretched out to a year and a month or more. Your training goes as fast as you do and will be completed when you are complete.

Our classes are geared towards your complete basic education in the Craft. Once you have passed your final exam, you will be initiated as a 1st degree solitary Witch, complete with a certificate. ​

1. Witches Bible Compleat by Janet and Stewart Farrar. This is our textbook.

2. Pentagram Jewel - Must have five points (single point up) and fully enclosed in a circle.

3. Black Handled Knife - Must be double-edged, never touched blood, no negative markings / style / usage

4. White Robe with a white cord - White, un-patterned natural material (cotton/linen/silk), floor length, loose and flowing, hood optional. (Cord must be 11 feet long) We have links available.

5. The Grimoire of Lady Sheba - by Jessie Wicker Bell (Lady Sheba). Contains the Language and the Laws chapters
Send us a message and we'll send you a few questions to start or you can fill out our online questionnaire below. Then, we'll make arrangements for a full interview, possibly two. Once the interview has been completed and discussed among the elders and you are accepted, your start date will be in a couple of weeks.

The first 3 classes are introduction classes and you will be bombarded with information. Don't worry, we'll go over it again as often as we need to. You move at your own pace as long as you keep moving... forward. Our introduction classes are currently on WEDNESDAY nights from 7 pm - 9 pm on the Zoom platform. There are a minimum of three classes before you move to your regular class night. It gives you and us a chance to get to know each other a little better before you commit 100%.

​After your introduction classes, your first test will be from the Introduction of The Witches' Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrar. This is our favorite part of this book because it covers so much. At the end of your year and a day, you will know that Introduction chapter as if you had written it yourself. 
BEFORE APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP
     Please be sure to read through our website, and as many posts on our social media sites as possible. Please read the list of Required Items needed to begin class. Consider reading THE WITCHES' BIBLE by Janet and Stewart Farrar ASAP as this is our textbook. ***We give quizzes on every chapter, a Midterm and a Final Exam. If you do not enjoy the book or being quizzed, you will not enjoy our classes. ***Know that while we always practice robed and no sex is ever required, we do practice the Five Fold Kiss, light Ritual Scourging, and the symbolic Great Rite. If this is a problem for you, we are not the group for you. ***This is a teaching Coven that trains Wiccans. We do not have equivalency for already experienced Witches or Wiccans. All start from the beginning with us. ***While we appreciate peoples’ psychic gifts, they do not factor, at all, in our decision to accept someone, or how we train them. ***Inner Circle Sanctuary has a curriculum that every student follows, without exception.
