THE CRAFT: LEGACY5 Elements out of 5 This movie is magick right off the bat, and doesn’t let up till the very last scene. Do like I did, and eat some leftover Halloween candy, turn out the lights and watch. For those of you who grew up on The Craft, know beforehand it is not The Craft. But neither are you the person who first fell in love with that incredible movie. The Craft: Legacy is at once its own beautiful creature, and a perfect continuation of the original. The scenery is so gorgeous I now want to live in where it is set. The magick is so well shot it will excite non- magical people and not turn off practicing Witches. The chants are cool (and useable!) and Witchcraft theory, and even ethics are explored. As The Craft did, the Craft: Legacy really reflects the times, and yet is timeless. All the actors perform incredibly as very real characters living in situations that can go real to surreal in a second. You will love them. There are plenty of nods to the original, and the 90s in general. I love the quick flash of Pamela Colman-Smith in the beginning. The Craft: Legacy thought up all sorts of cool new ways to advance what the original started. Any loose ends give me hope there will be another The Craft before I die. Was there anything I didn’t love about this movie? No, and I am glad we bought it instead of renting, because I know we will watch it repeatedly. I wish Lady Morgana and Lord Mordred could see it, as they loved the original. And I hope it isn’t 25 years till the next one is made.
