Join us as we cast an esbat ring, prepare spells specifically for the waning moon phase, and empower them before we cast them.

Our events are potluck, so please feel free to bring a dish that might want to make some stuff.

We ask for a $10 donation for our events. All money collected will be given to a local community charity.

A traditional ritual we like to perform at every ritual from Grand Sabbats paired with the Great Rite to the simple small circle esbat in the living room is the sharing of "Cakes & Ale". A simple blessing over the cakes and ale is Gerald Gardners'...

"Oh Queen most secret, bless this food unto our bodies, bestowing health, wealth, strength, joy and peace, and that fulfillment of love that is perpetual happiness".

Sigil (noun)
a pictorial symbol used in ritualistic magic and supposed to have supernatural power: Create a sigil to represent your goal or resolution and carve it into the candle. (www.dictionary.com/browse/sigil)

A sigil is a symbol with a mystical or magical meaning. The term sigil derives from the Latin sigillum, meaning "seal" and it is the root of many other English words such as “signature,” “sign,” and “signal.”

Inner Circle Sanctuary teaches that spell work is a matter of levels. Every extra added layer added to your spell work is a level to help enhance your visualization and intention. Start with a (1) candle, (2) choose its color, (3) anoint it with oil, (4) choose an incense burn, (5) add herbs, (6) create a chant, (7) maybe some herbs, (8) and parchment paper with a sigil on it and BOOM! it's a 8-layer magical spell.

Join us as we show you how to create your own sigils, a little history of where they come from, and how to use them in your practice.

Waning Moon Ritual

Waning Moon Ritual

The waning phase of the moon is a good time for work that involves releasing things, getting rid of unwanted habits, stopping problems, and generally moving things away from you. “As the moon wanes, so may my….” whatever you’d like.
Spell ideas:
     Getting rid of money problems
     Reversing negative energy
     Protection
     Stopping unwanted emotions
     Breaking bad habits
     Etc
Our live ritual will be semi-participatory with a mixture of watching the ritual from outside the ring and then coming inside the ring to create and empower a spell.
We will be doing a reversing spell to keep negative energy out of our lives. Candles and anointing oil will be provided.
We teach our students to do spell work during each moon phase, even if you don’t NEED anything. The waxing phase is a time of growth and bringing things to you. The waning phase is a time of release and keeping things away from you. For example, doing a money spell during the waxing phase will bring money and abundance to you. Then, a reversing spell during the waning phase will keep problems associated with money away from you.

Our events are always potluck, so feel free to bring a dish to share.

There is no dress code for this event. Our students will be wearing their magical robes and accessories during this ritual. You are welcome to wear a ritual robe if you have one. If not, casual clothes is perfectly fine.

Get Out of a Magical Rut

Some things (not an exhaustive list by any means) to also consider concerning magical ruts are:

One of the many benefits of being a part of a group is support, advice, fellowship, and sometimes it's just easier to get out of bed, so to speak, when there's someone to get out of bed for.

Lord Mordred used to advise we lean into our Gods for Their support. Their energy and wisdom is boundless, and always a good source of both to draw from.

Our Maiden, Lady Atheona, always says go back to basics, and this is very sage advice, no matter how 'advanced' one believes themselves to be.

Similarly, going back to 'that' book, novel, movie, or thing that sparked the interest in Witchcraft and Magick in the first place can be of great benefit. For me, it's reading A Book Of Pagan Rituals for the thousandth time. What's yours?

And of course, one can do a Spell and/or Ritual to bring back that Witchy feeling.

Calendula

Flowers for October include Calendula and Cosmos.
Here is some information on Calendula.

Calendula officinalis is the official name of this colorful flowering plant otherwise known as Marigold. Some other folk names are: Bride of the Sun, Calendula, Spousa Solis, and Summer’s Bride.

Calendula are masculine and the Sun is the planet that rules this beautiful plant. They are associated with the element of Fire and used in protection spells, legal matters and prophetic dreams, healing, stability, consecration and spiritual growth. Growing Calendula in your garden is fairly easy and will attract butterflies. They do well in full sun with well drained soil, but not in hot summer temperatures, so some shade may be needed if you live in the desert. The exact origins of Calendula have been lost, but is believed to have been used in Ancient Greece and Egypt as a beautiful dye, along with several other uses.

Let's Talk About Witchcraft

Join ICS for an open discussion about what it’s like being part of a coven during a time of isolation and forced solitary practice.

Being part of a coven doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not a solitary witch. Our coven members and students are taught how to practice on their own and be successful solitary witches, even though they are part of a large group. Group magic is fulfilling and powerful, but you can be just as effective when working by yourself.

Moon Water

With the full moon tonight, I’m sure many people will be creating moon water. In theory, moon water is water that has soaked up the power and energies of the moon. It’s used for many purposes: cleaning your tools, crystals, or candles; anointing yourself with it daily; cleaning your home; feeding your plants; etc.

How do you make moon water? Some instructions say to put out a bowl and let it bask in the moonlight then put it in a jar to keep until the next full moon. Others are more detailed involving herbs, chants, and crystals.
